Deerhurst Resort

Deerhurst Resort
Deerhurst was among Muskoka’s earliest resorts commissioned in 1896 and has two beautiful courses for you to come and see. Deerhurst has ranked as the second best in Canada by Score magazine in the “Best Golf Resort” category for several reasons such as the views, the facilities, the scenery and also the demanding Deerhurst Highlands golf course. The resorts title course is from architects Robert Cupp and also Thomas McBroom.

Carved from the rugged hills and dense forestry, it presents the golfer with hazards to challenge every aspect of ones game. The Deerhurst Lakeside course is perhaps a little more forgiving and is a par 65 offering a gentler layout and provides a very enjoyable track in excellent condition to still offer variety and many skill testing holes for golfers.

Grandview Golf Club

Grandview Golf club Muskoka Mark O'meara

The Mark O’Meara Course at Grandview opened in May 2001. This course was the debut of the PGA Tour star in the golf course design arena. O’Meara wanted his first design to be on a beautiful piece of property, and he has made excellent use of the natural settings that the Muskoka region affords. The golf course course sprawls across gorgeous, rugged terrain with plenty of elevation changes, trees and encroaching granite outcroppings to give you the views and golf holes you dream of in and reminds us why Muskoka Golf is famous the world over.

Rocky Crest Golf Club

rocky crest golf 6 th hole

At Rocky Crest Golf Club, situated at the north of Lake Joseph, McBroom designed yet another magnificent course out of the Canadian Shield of Muskoka. Wonderfully framed by forest of light hemlock and pine and birch, the fairways are accented by granite outcroppings and deep bunkers that supply definition and challenge.

Rocky Crest Golf Club is aptly named for the appearance of the Canadian Shield on no less than 15 of its holes.  This feature hole is a par 5 measuring 569 yards from the back tee with a forced carry over a smooth and beautiful granite ravine that requires your tee shot to carry 180 yards to reach the fairway.

The Lake Joseph Club

The Lake Joseph Club

The Lake Joseph Club golf course has been framed by dense forest and also granite from the Canadian shield, with spectacular landscapes of the picturesque Lake Joseph in the heart of the the region. The beauty and the challenge around this rugged setting will leave you satisfied and craving to play another 18 holes. The course is known for many great views but course design it’s really as strategic and challenging as it is panoramic.

So there you have four excellent golf courses in Muskoka you really should go and see this season.
